City of Vancouver adopts Ethical Purchasing Resolution:

Last week, Vancouver City Council in a unanimous decision passed a motion to establish and ethical purchasing policy for the city of Vancouver by the end of this year. The proposed resolution requires that city staff will deliver a report back in two months so that by the end of the year, the policy will be in place.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating this important step by writing to Mayor Larry Campbell and all council members thanking them for doing the right thing and congratulating them for their commitment to this important justice issue.

We strongly encourage all of you who had supported our No Sweat and Women and Work campaign to please write to City council, you can do this by sending an e-mail to: mayorandcouncil@city.vancouver.bc.ca.

Your support on this important proposed policy and practice change is very important to the work of Oxfam and to social justice.
